CONO DI ZEO

In collaboration with Four Seasons Resort, Cono Di Zeo managed the $45 million dollar renovation of their five-star Palm Beach property designed by Martin Bruznizki Design Studio. He also developed the Four Season Fort Lauderdale Resort and Residences, designed by Tara Bernerd & Partners, part of a $200 million dollar development.

Cono served as Vice President of Design for Baha Mar Ltd., a $3.5 billion dollar destination resort development in the Bahamas totaling over 3,500 hotel rooms (Rosewood, Morgans Hotel Group, and Grand Hyatt Resort), 100,000 square foot casino and an array of amenities and resort activities.

Prior to joining Baha Mar, Cono served as the Owner’s Representative for Istithmar Hotels (the investment arm of Dubai World). In that capacity, he was responsible for the redevelopment of the W Hotel (Washington D.C.) and the landmarked Knickerbocker Hotel (New York).

Earlier in his career, Cono was part of a select group of industry professionals focused on the burgeoning Boutique Hotel business. As Vice President of Development for Ian Schrager Hotels, he oversaw the design and development of some of Ian Schrager’s best-known hotels including the Mondrian (Los Angeles), Hudson (New York), Clift (San Francisco), Sanderson and St. Martin’s Lane (London). Cono also operated as the Vice President of Development for Andre Balazs and Hotels AB, where he oversaw the development of the Raleigh Hotel (Miami), The Standard/Lido Spa (Miami) and Hotel QT (New York).

Cono has held key roles on a variety of projects including the Gramercy Park Hotel and Residences (for Ian Schrager), the Algonquin Hotel, the Cooper Square Hotel (a 150-room in downtown Manhattan), and the conversion of One Madison Avenue into high-end residential condominiums for Credit Suisse. As an architect, he worked as a Senior Associate for leading firms including Perkins Eastman Architects. He received his education at the University of Rome and at the Pratt Institute in New York.
